HVAC Project Engineer (3+ years)

Responsibilities

• Support the company with the design of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and convey designs via contract documents
• Perform HVAC load calculations with the use of computer software
• Lay out and design ductwork and piping including representation in 2D and/or 3D computer-aided drawings
• Write and edit technical performance specifications (from company master)
• Communicate with architects, owners, and other engineering trades to provide a fully coordinated system design
• Develop and implement a plan to complete the design process on schedule
• Perform construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review and site visits (including travel)

Experience/Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
• EIT (required)
• PE (preferred)
• Work experience in the HVAC consulting engineering industry (3+ years required)

Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit (required)
• Proficient in Trane Trace (preferred)
• Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks based on competing project schedules and remaining work to be performed
• Understands complex HVAC system types with a willingness and desire to learn more
• Possesses a desire to understand the “big picture” and think through problems at both the macro- and micro-levels
• Has strong follow-through, ensuring that tasks are completed using self-implemented quality control measures
